IBM

The newly built spaces of the IBM Client Innovation Centre in Škrobárny in Brno are based on a communion with nature and references to organic conception. The complete design of the interior was made by U1 in regards to the internal IBM standards for workspace in the spirit of AGILE methodology. The open space, with more than 300 workplaces, is based on different types of environments, and is free for the employees to use. The natural concept was usefully complemented by the Only 1 furniture system with wooden details. The client’s essential criterion was the multifunctionality of the table system with the possibility to temporarily increase the seating capacity. The moveable room dividers and the Only 1 poufs with a closet space have become an appreciated accessory. The central core of the interior is wrapped in cladding from acoustic plywood, which significantly helps to minimize the noise in the open space. It is the place for the employees’ facilities, such as a kitchen, a meeting room and various corners for sessions. Everyday objects, such as waste management and the copy machine, are hidden in the cladding. The awareness of company identity is completed by the graphic pictograms in the circular cut outs that illustrate branches of activities in which IBM participates. Installation of the interior was implemented by U1 in cooperation with IBM’s supplier Kinnarps.
